The new Sierra HD is one of the most promising work trucks currently on sale, but this hard-working behemoth can become your deluxe daily driver or a capable adventure companion. Building on the previous model year, it comes in 2500 and 3500 lineups. The 2025 Sierra 2500 HD is available in seven trim levels, ranging from the base Pro, which is perfect for worksites, to the upscale Denali Ultimate, a trim that impresses with luxury comfort.

The 2025 Sierra 3500 HD lineup comes in six trim levels, including the adventure-ready AT4 model, as well as the high-end Denali and Denali Ultimate. Regardless of the lineup you choose, the entry-level Pro trim is the most versatile, as it is available in all cab and bed configurations. Options include a three-seat regular cab offered exclusively with a long bed as well as double and crew cab options, both available with a long or a standard bed.

Capable Engine Options

Whether you opt for a 2500 or a 3500 model, most Sierra HD trim levels come standard with a 6.6L V8 gas engine that delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. In the base configuration, this engine boasts a maximum payload capacity of 3,907 lbs and 24,500 lbs of gross combined weight rating in the Sierra 2500 HD model. The 3500 model boasts a higher payload capacity of 4,721 lbs.

The available 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel V8 engine delivers 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, which translates to impressive towing capacity. In its burliest version, the 2500 HD can pull up to 22,500 lbs. The 3500 HD provides a towing capacity of 36,000 lbs, which is more than enough for heavy-duty trailers and the biggest toys you want to take on adventures.

Smart Technologies

From connectivity and entertainment to convenience and driver assistance, the 2025 Sierra HD comes packed with technologies. For an enhanced driving experience, each trim level boasts conventional or adaptive cruise control as standard. Towing assistance technologies are available on most trim levels and include camera provisions and trailer side blind zone alerts for enhanced safety.

An HD rear vision camera is standard across all trims, making backing and parking a breeze. The infotainment system comes with all the modern features you’d expect in a current-generation truck, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth phone integration and audio streaming, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
