GMC is a proud manufacturer of proficient trucks and SUVs that dominate the roads, trails, and job sites. However, proficiency doesn’t have to be synonymous with expensive. There are several affordable models that you can find at your GMC dealership for under $40,000 in 2025.

1. 2025 GMC Terrain

For 2025, GMC’s smallest SUV is available in the base Elevation trim only, which comes fully loaded at an affordable price. Under the hood is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-four engine that produces 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, but those who need additional traction can opt for all-wheel drive.

The well-appointed interior is designed around comfort and utility. The gear shifter has been repositioned to the steering column, opening up the center console for additional storage. CoreTec seating surfaces offer a leather-like feel, while standard heated front seats ensure comfort in colder weather. Cargo capacity is generous for a compact SUV, offering 30 cubic feet behind the second row and 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.

2. 2025 GMC Canyon

The Canyon is a mid-size pickup with plenty of daily usability and ruggedness built in. All trims are powered by a 2.7L TurboMax inline-four engine, delivering an impressive 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. RWD is standard, but AWD is available or standard on off-road-focused variants like the AT4 and AT4X. Towing capacity reaches up to 7,700 pounds with proper equipment.

The Canyon has become increasingly upscale in recent years. All models include an 11.3-inch center touchscreen and a full-color 11-inch digital instrument display. Depending on the trim, interior materials range from durable cloth to high-end leather. Heated front seats are standard on most trims, while ventilation is available. A power opening/closing tailgate is standard, making it easy to access the 5-foot bed.

3. 2025 GMC Sierra 1500

The renowned Sierra 1500 is a workhorse that offers excellent value. Four engines are available, with lower trims using the same TurboMax I4 as the Canyon, and upper trims using a 5.3L or 6.2L V8 engine. An available 3.0L Turbo-Diesel I6 provides up to 495 lb-ft of torque, and unlocks the truck’s maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds.

Versatility is the name of the Sierra 1500’s game. Three cab and three bed options are available, along with eight trim levels with increasing levels of luxury. All models except the base Pro trim come with a MultiPro Tailgate that creates six different configurations, allowing for load stops, step access, and work surfaces. All trims come with an expansive 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity.

It’s clear that affordability doesn’t come at the expense of capability. Need help choosing an affordable vehicle? Contact Kyle Edwards GMC in Muskogee, OK.
